If you've been seeing strange little creatures with long ears, toothy smiles and cartoonish eyes on social media lately — that's Labubu. These collectible figures have become a global obsession, and by 2024–2025, their popularity skyrocketed.

What Is Labubu?

Labubu is a character created by Hong Kong-based artist Kasing Lung. Originally from comic books, Labubu gained worldwide fame thanks to a collaboration with Pop Mart, the Chinese giant of designer collectibles.

Labubu is a small creature with a fuzzy texture, pointy ears, sharp teeth, and a childlike gaze. Each series presents it in new styles: pirate, fairy, vampire, chef, zombie, mermaid — and the list keeps growing.

The toys are released in blind box format, meaning you won’t know which figure you get until you open the box. Every collection also includes hidden or ultra-rare editions, which are the most sought-after among collectors.

When Did Labubu Go Viral?

This article describes the 2024–2025 collecting trend. The original examples of rare resale listings at €300–500 or more are historical asking-price examples, not current prices or confirmed sale values. Check current stock, seller evidence and the total cost.

Collectors showcase their figures in custom displays, create fan pages, take part in online lotteries, and track rarity rankings.
